Cherry Orchard will continue to offer extra-curricular School Club sessions this term. These activities should be booked termly to give everyone fair opportunity to sample all the different clubs and are on a first come first served basis. Funds raised allow us to appoint professionals in the fields of sports and music to enable our children to access specialist coaching and teaching in these areas. Club costs are £3 per session starting at 3:15 and finishing at 4:15 pm.
We are delighted to offer three new clubs in Term 3, reflecting the skill set of our current teaching staff, the availability of our specialist coaches and the curriculum they are delivering in Terms 3 & 4. We are pleased to introduce a new addition to our staff – our new language teacher Mrs. McLaughlan who will take our new Spanish Club. Our IT learning club, will continue giving children the opportunity to log on to their new Mathseeds Account as well as Reading Eggs, supervised by our KS1 Lead – Miss Featherstone and her team. Film Club run by the Year 3 Team and a Construction Club which will be run by the Reception Team will also continue as well as our Music Club by Mrs. Stroud.
Our P.E. with Progressive Sports for this term, will cover Dance and Gymnastics, so the clubs will reflect the specialist coaches we have on Mondays and Fridays. A new Gymnastics Coaching session will start on Mondays whilst on Fridays, the specialist Dance Coach will introduce a new Musical Theatre and Street Dancing Club. Miss Bill will run a new BoardGames Club focussing on speaking and listening but from a fun perspective!
The Family Fitness & Nutrition Workshop will continue on Tuesdays organised by The Gr@nd and run for a further six weeks commencing Tuesday 22nd January in the School Hall. This will give families the opportunity to take part in family activities aimed at keeping fit and active and explore various nutrition ideas. Children need to be accompanied by an adult but all the family is welcome to attend.
We continue to offer the opportunity for parents to book small group and individual music lessons for their children directly with Robert Sellery – who is an established Music Teacher working with schools in the local area. Please be advised that should these fall within the school day, we will try to arrange these across lunch and break times to minimise time out of class. Full details of Music Lessons can be downloaded here and you should arrange these by contacting Robert Sellery directly on email@example.com.
