Cherry Orchard will continue to offer extra-curricular School Club sessions in Term 1 to years 1 – 4. There will be no activity clubs for our new Reception intake in Term 1 to allow them to settle in to school first. These activities should be booked termly to give everyone fair opportunity to sample all the different clubs and are on a first come first served basis. Funds raised allow us to appoint professionals in the fields of sports, music and language to enable our children to access specialist coaching and teaching in these areas. Club costs are £3 per session starting at 3:15 and finishing at 4:15 pm.
We are delighted to continue offering clubs in Term 1, reflecting the skill set of our current teaching staff, the availability of our newly appointed PE Co-Ordinator Mr. Barnard and the curriculum being delivered in Term 1. Our Gardening / Nature Club and Film Club will continue to run but by the Year 4 Team and our Construction Club will be run by the Reception Team as well as ourRecorder Club and popular Dance Clubs.
FootballCoaching sessions will resume on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but will be split into KS1 and KS2 to allow for differences in teacher. Cooking Club will also continue but again as the school grows, we will split into two sessions – one for KS1 and the other for KS2. See full timetable on the google form for full details of which days.
Music Clubin Term 1 will be open only to members of the CHOIR who will be practicing for an exciting trip to the O2 in January/February of next year. Mrs. Stroud has registered Cherry Orchard into the Young Voices 2020– the largest school concert in the world, where they will sing alongside 7000 other children in London. Children will be learning over 40 songs and the funds raised from the club will go towards the cost of their coach trip up and back, tickets and other additional expenses. See website for further details www.youngvoices.co.uk. A letter to parents with children in the choir will be sent out shortly.
We continue to offer the opportunity for parents to book small group and individual music lessons for their children directly with Robert Sellery – who is an established Music Teacher working with schools in the local area. Please be advised that should these fall within the school day, we will try to arrange these across lunch and break times to minimise time out of class. Full details of Music Lessons can be downloaded here and you should arrange these by contacting Mr. Sellery directly on email@example.com.
Clubs start Monday 02.09.19 and will run through until Friday 18.10.19. Sessions will run for 7 weeks.
Please note all Clubs finish at 4:15; we politely request that you be prompt to pick up your child through the main Reception door. Children who are not picked up will be taken to ASP after 5 – 10 minutes and a charge may be incurred.
