The children had a fantastic day on Thursday visiting the four main hub stations of the HS1 Rail Network, which introduced their Houses of Achievement for the future. Children from Ebbsfleet House across the School had their photo taken in their JADE GREEN caps under the Station sign to start the trip to Ashford, where they posed in their PURPLE caps. When we arrived at Ashford, they were split into their House Groups for a tour of the Station and its working control room, ticket barrier and observation points, before boarding the train again to St. Pancras, for a photo shoot in their SKY BLUE caps. Great fun and excitement on the train eating their lunch on the commuter tables and flip up tables on the back of the seats – then on to the Harry Potter Q Jump for photos at Platform 9 3/4.
A brief tour of St. Pancras and it was ‘all aboard again’ for their next stop – the Eco Play Park at Stratford – a quick stop off for the children in RED caps from the Stratford House and they all had a brilliant hour playing on all the different slides and climbing equipment, including a brief break for a well deserved ice lolly! Apart for a cancelled last train back to Ebbsfleet, the whole day went exactly according to plan – thanks to the excellent organisation and assistance from the HS1 Network personnel in collaboration with the three British Transport Police Officers. So a huge thanks to them!
We are so proud of our children; everywhere we went we were complimented on their exemplary behaviour and good manners – a credit to the School and to you as Parents! Thank-you.
